Eventbrite, the event ticketing company, has just released a new version of its free iPhone app, Eventbrite Easy Entry. The app will allow event organizers to check attendees in by scanning a 2D barcode on Eventbrite tickets directly from their iPhones.

This will eliminate some the hassle of checking in at an event. Eventbrite will be using barcode-scanning technology provided by Quickmark to get attendee data into the system.

The iPhone app connects to a guest list on Eventbrite’s servers. Event staff can checkin attendees by scanning a barcode, looking up their names or browsing a list.

What makes the system so cool is that checkins are synced across multiple devices. This will mean that event staff members can be stationed at multiple entrance points without worrying about creating incomplete or unsynchronized data.
